Lagosians will, using an inexpensive set-top box & antenna, get access to potentially dozens of TV channels. Digital TV also frees up a lot of spectrum, which can be used for other things, like wireless broadband. The amount of spectrum needed to transmit one analog TV channel will transmit multiple digital channels. Digital TV allows so much more than Analogue. [
With the digital switchover it will now finally be possible, I believe, to accurately measure viewing numbers and patterns/habits - among other benefits.
