Asisat Oshoala scored and provided an assist as Barcelona defeated Montpellier 1-6 in the second friendly between both teams in a week.
Aitana Bonmati opened scoring for Barcelona in the 19th minute before Oshoala provided the asist for former World Player of the Year, Lieke Martens to double the lead on 39 minutes.
An own goal by Montpellier’s Sarah Puntigam made it 3-0 before Oshoala scored in the 63rd minute to make it 4-0 to Barcelona. Alexia Putellas and Leila Ouahabi got Barcelona’s fifth and sixth goals in the 72nd and 89th minutes respectively. Montpellier pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute and the match ended with a 1-6 scoreline in favour of Barca.
Just another day at the office for Lady Oshoala
The reigning Africa Women’s Player of the Year had also scored one of Barcelona’s goals in the 3-0 win against Montpellier in the previous friendly on August 2nd.
Oshoala and her Barcelona teammates’ next game is against Atletico Madrid, in the quarter-final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on August 21.
