Alhaji Tunde Balogun, the chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday said candidates for the vacant executive seats in the party will emerge by consensus.

The seats became vacant following the appointment of three of the executives into the cabinet of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

They are Dr Wale Ahmed, the former Party Secretary who is now the Commissioner for Special Duties in Lagos.

Others are Assistant Legal Adviser, Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka who is now the Special Adviser, Ministry of Housing and Joe Igbokwe, the Publicity Secretary who is now the Special Adviser on Drainage and Water Resources.

Balogun in a chat with DAILY INDEPENDENT also said rather than upgrading the assistants of the former exco members to take over their posts, new replacements will be chosen from the zones where they came from.

“We are going to do it by consensus. The consensus is one of the constitutional requirements which will be ratified later by the state congress.

“The replacements will come from the zone where the former occupants of the vacant posts come from,” he said
